As I look back across my years
My vision blurred through all my tears
My failures fueled by faithless fears
I never crossed those bridges burned
As I look back through all my seasons
I see the weakness of my reasons
Excuses fall short for my treasons
I see the cost of things that weren’t
As I look back upon my days
I see the error of my ways
I see the light burn through the haze
I see salvation can’t be earned
As I look back through all the ages
I’ve read the proverbs and the sages
Tearing out unwanted pages
Is there more I could have learned
As I look at decisions made
And at the price my Savior paid
Unfamiliar I was afraid
Like a dog to his vomit I returned
As I look back across my times
Reflecting through my hopeless rhymes
A repeat offender of my crimes
I find myself guilty and court is adjourned
As I look back through history
Revealing what was once mystery
Those visions I could never see
The unknown harm I was causing me
As I look at the second chances
Based on different circumstances
As I stare at fleeting glances
Different music different dances
As I reflect across my doubt
Have I got it all figured out
As I dwell on past mistakes
resurrecting past heartaches
From the horizon it comes into view
More time I could have spent with you
More victories I could have tasted
Traded for the time I wasted
